what we miss … les 24 Heures de Liège
the only race of the Great Four* that isn’t in excistence anymore, the 24 Heures de Liège were run from 1971 up until 2003, a great loss for the world of endurance racing

the Suzuki France team was a factory effort were the Belgians formed a semi-factory team
Hubin & Moineau became world champions together in 1983 riding for Suzuki
in 1987 Moineau would claim his 3rd of 4 world titles, a feat still unbroken today (although it has to be said that since 2001 no longer riders can win the title as only teams can claim the endurance world title)
in the race depicted on the photo Hubin would go on to win his 2nd 24 Heures de Liège together with Belgian team mates Michel Simul & Michel Siméon (father of Moto2 racer Xavier Siméon), Moineau would race to 3rd place together with Frenchmen Bruno Le Bihan & Jean-Louis Tournadé
